Dubai Airports and Dubai Police Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Dubai, UAE – May 15, 2011 – Dubai Airports and Dubai Police signed a Memorandum of Understanding on Sunday, May 15th, further cementing the five-decade long partnership between the two entities. The MoU, which will enhance alignment of strategic corporate objectives, was signed by HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority (DCAA) and Chairman of Dubai Airports and HE Lieutenant General Dahi Khalfan Tamim, Chief of Dubai Police, at a ceremony attended by senior representatives from both the sides.
Commenting on the event, Sheikh Ahmed said the MoU was a timely step in the right direction. “Considering Dubai International’s continuing growth story and the projected traffic in the coming years, it was necessary to formalise the relationship between Dubai Airports and Dubai Police. This development will ensure we meet the demand for capacity as well as maintain and improve customer service quality even as we become the world’s busiest hub by 2020. We know that Dubai International’s success is the result of a high degree of cooperation and understanding between the many stakeholders who work under the one umbrella of Dubai.”
Following the signing of the memorandum, Lt. General Dahi Khalfan announced plans to conduct a survey at the airport with the objective of getting to understand the views and expectations of the customers. He added that although the police and the airport have historic ties, the MoU will really go a long way in enhancing the relationship between the two organisations and bringing benefits to the customers.
