Dubai Airports Employees Challenged to a ‘Runway Run’

Dubai, UAE – 31 October 2017; Almost half way into the 30x30 Dubai Fitness Challenge and employees at Dubai Airports have been set another task – to Beat the CEO in a 3.6km dash on the runway – as a grand finale to the initiative that has taken Dubai by storm.

In keeping with the spirit of the 30-day event – which encourages Dubai residents to embark on a path to better health and wellness – the Dubai Airports senior management wanted to add an additional incentive to employees. The ‘Runway Run’ will be that event, and a way to keep spirits high in the second half of the month of fitness.

“When the Dubai Fitness Challenge was presented to us by HH Sheikh Hamdan, all at Dubai Airports accepted without hesitation. The leadership team have been actively encouraging all employees and their families to register and join the whole city in this initiative,” said HH Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Airports.

He continued, “To motivate our employees even more, we have given them another challenge and an opportunity to test their improved fitness in a ‘Runway Run’. A chance to race against the CEO and the leadership team, the length of the flight academy runway at DWC and celebrate their wellness achievements.”

In a video shared with over 3000 employees and on the airport's social media channels, Dubai Airports’ CEO Paul Griffiths and Deputy CEO Jamal Al Hai, showed their fitness prowess in a gruelling, yet highly amusing, training session through the airport. Proof enough that they are more than ready to stand alongside hundreds of employees on the start line at DWC on the 18 November, at an event that will mark fitness accomplishments across the company.
