Dubai Airports gets under the skin of innovation – Hackathon style!

Dubai, UAE – February 12, 2017 – Dubai Airports gets under the skin of innovation – Hackathon style! - Kirsten O’Neill, Manager of Customer Experience Research at Dubai Airports has a microchip implanted in her hand as participants of the Happiness Hack Dubai: Smart Travel Experience hackathon at Dubai International Terminal 3 last week watch in fascination. Dubai Airports worked with Smart Dubai to host the event which aims to discover, design and prototype new solutions bringing happiness to all city sectors to achieve 95 per cent happiness for Dubai by 2021. The first of a series of hackathons to be organised by Smart Dubai, the event brought together 40 international hackers along with 28 Happiness Champions from 23 government and private sector entities, with participants using travel data and happiness survey results to design and prototype solutions to positively impact happiness within the tourism sector. Happiness Hack Dubai is a programme of the Happiness Agenda, a strategic initiative by Smart Dubai adopted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in May 2016.
