Dubai Airports wins three awards at HR Leaders Forum and Awards 2012

Dubai, UAE – March 6, 2012 – Dubai Airports, the company that owns and manages Dubai’s two airports, swept the HR Leaders Forum and Awards 2012 on Monday claiming top honours in two team and one individual categories.

Dubai Airports was adjudged the Best Employer in the Public Sector, while the company’s Human Resources Department won the HR Team of the Year award. Samya Ketait, Vice President Learning & Development at Dubai Airports, took the Outstanding Contribution to HR award.
Crediting the entire department for the impressive performance, Jill Nealon, Senior Vice President Human Resources & Development said: “I am very pleased with our achievements and this recognition will go a long way in encouraging us to deliver even better performance in the future. Best practices in the areas of employee engagement, work-life balance, effective communication, successfully attracting and retaining employees, fostering employee learning and development, good health and safety practices, and promoting a positive culture and a progressive environment were also among the criteria.
Dubai Airports’ human resources department won the Team of the Year for the department’s contribution to the overall business strategy, relationship with other functions and ability to improve bottom line results.
Nealon has extensive experience in change management within service industries, including 20 years in aviation. Prior to joining Dubai Airports she held various positions with a UK service company RAC Group Plc as HR director for global technology and procurement/supply chain. In 2010 she was selected HR Director of the Year by naseba and led Dubai Airports’ HR team to win the Employer of the Year Award at the GCC HR Excellence Awards in 2011.

The three-day HR Leaders Forum and Awards was inaugurated on Sunday at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre alongside Careers UAE 2012, the leading recruitment, education and training event in the UAE.
