Dubai International ‘Best Worldwide Airport’ at Business Travel Awards 2010

Dubai, UAE – Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation Authority and Chairman of Dubai Airports received the Best Worldwide Airport award for Dubai International yesterday. Dubai International took home top honours at last week’s Business Travel Awards 2010 by out-performing other renowned international hubs including Changi Airport, Singapore and Incheon International Airport, South Korea.

The award is the first for the year and the fifteenth international award garnered by Dubai International over the past two years. It recognises Dubai International's consistent delivery of quality customer service over the years.

Sheikh Ahmed said that Dubai International’s success at the Business Travel Awards is the direct result of the airport’s customer–centric approach.

“This is a great start to the year and is a fantastic win”, said Sheikh Ahmed. “Dubai International is a window on Dubai. It is a world-class airport catering to all types of travellers, and is the only part of Dubai our transiting passengers’ experience. This win goes to show that we are truly living our values and that Service Excellence remains at the heart of everything we do.”

In its evaluation of Dubai International, judges considered the flawless opening of Terminal 3, the refurbishment of Terminal 2 and general achievements during the year including defying the global economic downturn and posting the largest increase in passenger traffic of the top 50 international airports.
