Dubai International voted Middle East’s Leading Airport at World Travel Awards

May 7, Dubai UAE – Dubai International has been named the Middle East’s Leading Airport at the 21st World Travel Awards which were held in Dubai recently. This is the second best airport award that Dubai International has won this week.

Anita Mehra, Vice President of Marketing and Corporate Communications at Dubai Airports attributed the win to teamwork among the staff as well as the partner organisations whose collaborative efforts are aimed at delivering a seamless experience for Dubai International’s 66 million customers. “We are very happy to win this Award not only because of its popularity but also because it is a recognition bestowed by the travel industry. As one of the world’s fastest growing hubs and the second busiest for international traffic, we at Dubai Airports always strive to manage growth while maintaining the quality of customer service that our customers have come to expect of Dubai. This award is a validation of our direction and efforts in that regard and a major encouragement for us to continue to look for ways to make our customers happy,” she said.

World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the travel tourism industry. The Middle East Gala Ceremony was the first stop on the annual Grand Tour, which will also include stops in Athens (Greece), Abuja (Nigeria), Quito (Ecuador), New Delhi (India), and the Caribbean island of Anguilla. Much coveted by travel and tourism companies, including airports and airlines, the Awards have been referred to as the Oscars of the global travel and tourism industry.
