DXB is Airport of the Year for Middle East & the Subcontinent at Payload Asia Awards

Dubai, UAE – November 9, 2014 – Dubai International, one of the world’s busiest hubs for international passengers and cargo has been named Airport of the Year for Middle East and the Subcontinent at the Payload Asia Awards held in Singapore.

Organised by industry publication Payload Asia and supported by Logistics Insight Asia, the annual Awards are a celebration of excellence, highlighting the air cargo supply chain organisations that make a difference in the industry.

“We are very pleased to be named the airport of the year by Payload Asia; the recognition is special since it is bestowed by our peers in the industry. Cargo operations have changed in a major way at Dubai Airports in recent years and we will continue to deploy the latest technology, systems and processes to maximise our efficiency for the satisfaction of all our customers.,” said Jamal Zaal, Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports.

The awards cover some 22 categories of the air cargo sector in addition to three special category awards. The industry awards were determined by a senior level industry panel drawn from across the industry and assessed via a points system based on the published criteria.
