Katy Perry Wows at Dubai Airshow Gala Dinner

DUBAI – 11 November 2015 - Dubai Airports, operator of the world’s #1 international airport, in cooperation with Dubai Duty Free and Emirates airline, set the stage for the launch of musicDXB as the world’s #1 recording artist Katy Perry wowed an enthusiastic crowd with a breath-taking performance at the invitation-only Dubai Airshow Gala Dinner held at the Atlantis in Dubai on November 10.

Ms. Perry astounded the audience of over 3200 dignitaries and industry professionals with a spectacular 90 minute show featuring hits from her Prismatic Tour including I Kissed A Girl, Roar and culminating with a heart-stopping rendition of Fireworks as a firework display lit up the Dubai sky behind her.

‘Britain’s Got Talent’ finalists Jack Pack, who will launch Dubai Airports’ musicDXB programme on November 11, warmed up airshow gala dinner guests by putting their contemporary stamp on much-loved classics from their self-titled debut album.

Dubai Airports’ Executive Vice President of Commercial & Communications Eugene Barry said, “Katy Perry was our first and only choice as the feature act for this exclusive event. Katy Perry’s performance was the latest punctuation mark in the star-studded history of Dubai Airshow Gala Dinner as crowds have been previously entertained by luminaries including Stevie Wonder, Rod Stewart, Diana Ross, Michael Bolton, Tom Jones, and George Benson among others. Dubai International has hosted other pop-up events including an impromptu airport concert featuring Kelly Rowland. Dubai Airports is also an avid supporter of local classical music initiatives including Choirfest Middle East.

Jack Pack, will launch the musicDXB programme on November 11 at 1300 with a pop up concert on the world’s biggest stage at Dubai International. musicDXB sets a new standard for global travel by creating a platform which targets a multi-cultural and cosmopolitan audience of more than 79 million music lovers who pass through the world’s busiest international airport every year. musicDXB will feature performances from global superstars, the hottest emerging international acts and up-and-coming local artists to entertain and engage passengers passing through Dubai International.
