New Al Majlis facility opens in time for World Energy Forum

Dubai, UAE – October 22, 2012 – Al Majlis, Dubai Airports’ VIP passenger service, has opened its new, modern facility in Dubai International’s Terminal 3, in time to accommodate the dignitaries attending this week’s World Energy Forum.
Dozens of heads of state, ministers and other industry leaders have made use of the new facility as they arrive in Dubai to thrash out a roadmap towards cleaner, safer and more sustainable energy. The conference takes place from October 22 to 24, 2012.
Al Majlis’ new, more central location makes connecting either to a commercial or private flight far more convenient and is able to better accommodate big groups with three large lounges in additional to six smaller, more intimate lounges spaces.
The building has been given a fresh, more modern look while retaining all the comfort and service that customers have come to expect from Al Majlis. While part of Terminal 3, Al Majlis will remain an exclusive service that adheres to the same privacy and security levels that were available in the past.

The current facility is being relocated as part of Dubai Airports’ $7.8bn Strategic Plan 2020 which will see the airport capacity increased from its current 60 million passengers a year to 90 million in 2018. The old Al Majlis site will be used to accommodate additional aircraft parking.
“It is an honour to welcome the many dignitaries attending the World Energy Forum to Dubai International as among the first passengers to use the new facility. Al Majlis remains committed to providing the highest level of service to all of its customers and appreciates their strong support. We believe that that bringing Al Majlis to Terminal 3 helps improve connection times while maintaining the exclusivity of the service our customers expect,” said Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports.
