DA claims two Stevie® Awards at the 2023 IBAs

DA wins two Stevie® Awards at IBAs 2023_1Dubai Airports lands two accolades, a Gold Stevie® Award in the Human Resources Team of the Year category and a Bronze Stevie® Award in the Thought Leader of the Year – Business Services category, at the 20th Annual International Business Awards® (IBAs) in Rome.

Recognising the efforts of the OD & Workforce Planning team led by Mohammad Al Hamli, SVP of Organisation Design & Business Partnerships, the prestigious Gold Stevie® highlights their exceptional achievements in leading the organisation through a transformative journey to address the challenges posed by the global pandemic. 

The programme focused on enhancing efficiency through the development of an agile workforce plan and strategic cost optimisation initiatives, which empowered Dubai Airports to promptly adapt to changing passenger demands, resulting in substantial cost savings and a 30% more agile workforce compared to pre-pandemic levels. The accomplishments not only assisted Dubai Airports in attaining industry-leading efficiency levels but also garnered an impressive employee engagement score in 2022. This strategic approach positioned DXB to seamlessly accommodate the resurgence of travel and maintain its distinction as the world's busiest international airport for the ninth consecutive year.

The Bronze Stevie® recognised the achievements of Essa Al Shamsi, Senior Vice President of Terminal Operations at Dubai Airports, for successfully leading and delivering transformational programmes across the organisation. Essa continuously positions Dubai International (DXB) as a global leader in service provision by delivering exceptional guest experiences and he was responsible for bringing together all decision-makers from across the business to maintain operational resilience during the Covid-19 pandemic response and recovery phases.
