Dubai Airports announces partnership with Dubai College of Tourism to enhance hospitality experience

Dubai, UAE – 7 November 2018: Dubai Airports and Dubai College of Tourism, part of Dubai’s Department of Tourism & Commerce Marketing (Dubai Tourism), have agreed to work closely to further enhance levels of hospitality experienced by customers within the emirate’s airports.

The signing of the agreement supports the government’s drive to attract 25 million visitors by 2025 and become the most visited city in the world.

Airports typically provide the first and last experience visitors have of the emirate and Dubai Airports has invested heavily to ensure they receive a warm welcome and top-flight service while passing through Dubai International (DXB) and Dubai World Central (DWC).

Dubai College of Tourism (DCT) is a vocational education college that allows students to gain both academic knowledge and career experience, steering away from the traditional university courses that focus on the theoretical aspects of a career. With an extensive range of programmes designed around industry best practices, all training tools are aimed at maximising career opportunities within Dubai’s booming tourism industry

The Memorandum of Understanding, which was signed by HE Jamal Al Hai, Dubai Airport Deputy CEO and Mr Essa Bin Hadher, General Manager, Dubai College of Tourism, at a special ceremony held at DXB will ensure that the hospitality provided at the airports and the city are closely aligned.

At the signing, Jamal Al Hai commented; "We are pleased to have signed this MoU and to be working with the Dubai College of Tourism to boost the training offered to our customer facing employees. The expertise of the college and its faculty will undoubtedly align us with the vision of Dubai, and enable Dubai Airports to offer an unparalleled customer experience.”

Commenting on the partnership, Mr Essa Bin Hadher, General Manager of Dubai College of Tourism, said: “As Dubai aims to become the most visited city in the world, it is crucial for our industry to deliver exceptional visitor experiences across the board. To achieve this, it is important to develop a knowledgeable and well-rounded workforce that will be prepared to deal with visitors from the moment they set foot in Dubai to the moment they leave. The Dubai College of Tourism is therefore committed to help empowering the workforce by imparting the correct knowledge and information about the emirate – a critical asset for those employed in tourist-facing roles.”
