Dubai Airports’ takes final training sessions to the tarmac ahead of Government Games

Dubai, UAE – May 8, 2018 – The members of the Dubai Airports Government Games teams took one of their last training sessions to Dubai World Central airport this week, as part of the final preparations ahead of the Government Games which begin on Wednesday 9 May.

The two teams made up of seven men and seven women, all employees of Dubai Airports from a variety of departments including Airside Operations and the Fire Service, took their workout away from the gym and spent a hot morning being put through their paces at the facility in DWC. A test of their new skills and putting refined strength to practise, the teams were given the opportunity to push their limits and even fire engine’s while airport operations continued around them.

An eight-week training plan was especially designed by fitness professionals at Dubai based, Bespoke Ride to whip the fourteen men and women into competition shape, ready to stand against teams from the UAE and around the world in the highly anticipated challenge from May 9 to 12.

Led by team captain Kirsten O’Neill, Dubai Airports’ Head of Government Agenda, the women’s team will be competing over seven obstacles in the female qualifiers on Wednesday May 9, heat one in the brown lane. The men’s team, led by Dubai World Central Fire Fighter Mohamed Helmy, will compete in the qualifiers on Thursday May 10, heat one in the pink lane across nine obstacles.
